The Colombian Technical Guide (Guía Técnica Colombiana – GTC) of Good Social Practices for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons arises as an initiative of the national government through the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the National Hydrocarbons Agency (Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos – ANH), and the National Financial Fund for Projects Development (Fondo Nacional Financiero de Proyectos de Desarrollo – FONADE) with the purpose of supporting hydrocarbon sector organizations to strengthen their social performance.

IG Consultores S.A.S. carried out part of the construction of this document through research for the generation of inputs for all the chapters and the creation of the contents of the chapters on communication, relationship with stakeholders, and transparency.

The chapters of the Guide developed by IG Consultores gather the knowledge of our firm in strengthening the relationship and generating trust among companies, and their stakeholders, thus seeking the viability and sustainability of the hydrocarbon operation. The work was carried out jointly among the Ministries of Mines and Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development; Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Interior and Labor; the National Hydrocarbons Agency (Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos – ANH), the National Environmental Licensing Agency (Agencia Nacional de Licencias Ambientales – ANLA), the National Business Association of Colombia (Asociación Nacional de Industriales – ANDI), and Ecopetrol, among other national constituency entities.

IG Consultores S.A.S. is a strategic ally of Universidad del Rosario and the Colombian Mining Observatory (Observatorio Colombiano de Minería – OCMI) of this institution in matters of research, development of communication and relationship strategies, and implementation of tactics on the ground that result in a better understanding among stakeholders.
